Sweet Potatoes are amazing!!! And quite versatile. Many people kind of skip over them or just know that they dislike them. I don’t know how, because they are so tasty…but, if you give them a try, you will be quite surprised! You can add sweetness to them to bring out the natural sweetness they already have or make them savory which is equally as tasty!
Super Simple, Savory and Sweet!
I decided to make super simple, savory crispy sweet potatoes! These are great for breakfast, lunch or dinner and are so easy.
You’ll need sweet potatoes and three other ingredients you most likely have on hand
- granulated garlic
That’s it! It may sound a little boring, but when you put everything together it’s absolutely amazing!
Step by Step Crispy Sweet Potatoes
Step 1: Start with a nice round sweet potato and peel it.
Step 2: Next, cut it into slices, about 1/4 inch thick and then cube them.
Step 3: Place them in a large pan over medium-high and drizzle olive oil over them – about 2 tablespoons.
Step 4: Stir them up and place a lid on the pan. Leave it on the stove for a good 20 minutes to soften them up stirring them occasionally. They will start browning, but don’t let them burn. At this point take off the lid and leave them cooking until they are browned and perfect. I like mine a bit darker and crispier, so I personally leave them on a bit longer.
Just before I take them off the stove I sprinkle on the salt and pepper and garlic – enough to your liking. I stir them up and just like that – they’re done! Enjoy!!!
They are more than amazing on their own, but they also go well with ketchup, maple syrup and honey (my favorite)! The sky is the limit to what seasonings and pairings they can go with, but this simple recipe is so satisfying, quick and tastefully filling! You’re going to love it!
