Just a few ingredients…a few minutes and you’ll have more then a few delicious potstickers! These flavorful, crispy, crunchy, steamed pork potstickers are a fun take on the traditional. Don’t get imitated, they’re easy to make and simple! Not a lot of ingredients, not a lot of steps, just a bit tedious…no biggie though. Once you get the rhythm down, fill, fold, crimp…fill, fold, crimp, you’ll zip right through them. I can tell you it’s totally worth it!
The filling is great! In addition to the main ingredient pork, there is ginger, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil and a bit of sugar for a bit of sweetness. A simple filling is best in my opinion, although you may add a variety of vegetables if you’d like!
I would suggest these for a party or gathering – this recipe does make a large quantity, or freeze for an impromptu snack or appetizer for your friends and family. Just thaw, cook and enjoy!

On a side note, I do wish I could prepare them faster, however, if I do happen to get lazy or need a quick dinner, I just make meatballs out of the filling and pair them with rice noodles and maybe a few veggies. Drizzle the dipping sauce over the whole dish and dinner is served! It’s amazingly delicious!
Preparation of the potstickers
Start out by thinly slicing the green onions. Place into a large mixing bowl. Next, chop up the ginger or grate if that’s easier for you. I do like larger pieces shining through. Little pops of flavor here and there. Place into bowl. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil and sugar. Next, place the ground pork into the bowl. Mix up completely and until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
Pull out the wonton wrappers. I used square shaped ones because this is all my grocery store offered. I might add, they work really well. Simply take a square, add a tablespoon or so of the filling. Dab the edges of the wrapper with water so they adhere together. Fold over, corner to corner, and firmly press together. I like to crimp the edges.
Immediately cook. Place in slightly oiled pan, about a tablespoon, over medium high heat. Make sure they each have plenty of room. No touching! I could get about 10 in my fry pan. Pan fry until golden brown. After a minute or until the bottoms are golden brown, add in about a half cup water. Cover with the lid and cook for another three minutes and until all the water is about gone.
Prepare the dipping sauce. In a small bowl add soy sauce and a small amount of chopped ginger. Add a bit of sugar or honey if you’d like a bit of sweetness.
Serve, eat and enjoy!
Freeze. Place uncooked potstickers onto a sheet pan, making sure they’re not touching each other. Freeze for two or more hours until completely frozen. Quickly place into plastic bag. Freeze until a craving hits. Thaw and cook as needed.

- 1 Pound Ground Pork
- 1/4 Cup Green Onion Thinly Chopped
- 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 2 Tbsp Ginger
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 35-40 Each Wonton Wrappers
- 1/4 Cup Soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp Ginger
- 1/4 tsp Honey or Sugar Optional
1. In mixing bowl add pork, green onions, soy sauce, ginger, sesame oil and sugar. (First 6 ingredients)
2. Mix together until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
3. Separate wonton wrappers and begin to fill with about 1 Tbsp of pork mixture each. Line edges with water and fold wrapper over filling and seal tightly. Crimp edges.
4. To cook: in a skillet, over medium high heat, add cooking spray or 1 Tbsp canola oil. Place Potstickers in pan. Just enough so they’re not touching or crowded. Fry for about a minute or until golden brown.
5. At this point add 1/2 cup water to pan and immediately cover with lid. Cook for about 3 minutes and most of the water is gone. Take out of pan a cool a bit.
6. Make dipping sauce: (last 3 ingredients) add 1/4 cup soy sauce into a small bowl. Add 1/2 tsp ginger. Optional - if you’d like a bit of sweetness add 1/4 tsp honey or sugar. Mix well.
7. Serve, eat and most of all, enjoy!
