Mint Oreo Mousse is amazing! Mint and Oreos and…it’s Mousse! It’s sweet, it’s minty, it’s fluffy, it’s creamy, it’s smooth, it’s chocolaty Oreo-y! Perfect to eat by the spoonful or as a filling for a cake or top brownies (my favorite) or cookies. The uses are endless. Who doesn’t love chocolate and mint together? Well, me sometimes, but this dessert, I LOVE!
Calling All Mint Fans
I’m personally not a huge mint fan, but I do know there are crazy mint fans out there. Although I’m not, this dessert gets me every time! One spoonful and I always think I’ll be satisfied, but two, three, four, fifty-five later…I’m telling you, it’s incredible! It’s a must try recipe! Or if you just can’t do the mint scene, try my plain Oreo mousse! OMG, it’s seriously the best!
A Few Simple Ingredients
After making this many times with much trial and error, I have found this to be my favorite recipe. Just a few simple ingredients: heavy whipping cream, butter, cream cheese, mint extract, powdered sugar and of course, Oreos! A lot of Oreos (Double Stuf Oreos)! I just love the addition of the cream cheese. It gives it a subtle tang and an undeniable creaminess. It’s truly amazing. Get out your mixer and let’s start making some mousse!
Let’s Make Mint Oreo Mousse
Step 1: Cream the cream cheese and butter together until it’s light and fluffy!
Step 2: Add powdered sugar and mix into the butter and cream cheese until fully incorporated. Set aside.
Step 3: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream until medium peaks form. Gently fold it into the cream cheese mixture. Add the mint extract and green food coloring, but just a drop or two. A light mint green is what we’re trying to achieve!
Step 4: Add the crushed-up Oreos! Quickly mix them in just until they’re incorporated. Don’t go over board or your mousse will turn completely brown. No harm in doing so, but I love biting into a big chunk of cookie! Gives it a bit of much needed texture!
Lastly, get ready to devour this sweet treat! Or top your favorite brownies, cookies or cake or whatever you please!
Mint Oreo Mousse
Fluffy, creamy, minty, Oreo-y. The perfect dessert, filling or topping!
- 1 Pint Heavy Whipping Cream
- 8 Oz. Cream Cheese Room Temperature
- 1/4 Cup Unsalted Butter Room Temperature
- 2 Cups Powdered sugar
- 1 15.35 Oz. Package of Oreos Crushed
- 1 Tbsp Mint Extract
- 1-2 Drops Green Food Coloring
Cream together the butter and cream cheese together until light and fluffy. Scrape often.
Add the powdered sugar and mix until fully incorporated. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream until medium peaks form. Fold into the cream cheese/butter mixture.
Add the mint extract and green food coloring. Add more or less and adjust as needed to color and taste.
Carefully stir in the crushed Oreos and enjoy!
