Pie Dough Chips

Pie dough is the best part of the pie. Wouldn’t you agree? Maybe the filling is too…I can’t ever decide. One bite I want more dough and the next I want more filling. It’s quite a vicious cycle. With pie dough chips you get the best of both worlds. You only need to decide from bite to bite.

Pie Dough Chips

This Is One Easy Dessert

Simply serve these amazing chips alongside your favorite pie fillings (you’re not limited to one flavor), and problem solved. Eat a chip plain or with a small dab in the pie filling or glob it on!

The chips themselves are simply pie dough cut into fun shapes. (Also, find the recipe below). So much easier than actually making a pie, by the way! Before they’re baked an egg wash is brushed on and maybe a dash of cinnamon and sugar for a little extra pizzazz! They’re so buttery, sweet, perfectly sturdy and crumbly at the same time! Amazing!

Make your own pie dough, I’ve got a great recipe – so buttery and crazy delicious, or go the easy route and buy pie dough! Totally up to you, but either way, they’re going to be amazing. Serve them with your favorite pie fillings and it’s a serious party.

Perfect For All Occasions

Fourth of July is coming up soon so it’s all red, white and blue! Even dessert! Blueberry, cherry or strawberry, and apple pie fillings are going to fit that ticket. Again, buy them or make your own! Get creative!

Quick, Easy & Simple

First, make or buy pie dough. Roll it out and simply cut it into squares or triangles. I like to use a pizza cutter to keep things quick, easy and simple. Or make fun shapes with cookie cutters to fit your occasion!

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes

  • 3 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup Unsalted Butter Cold and cubed
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp Granulated Sugar Extra for dusting the tops
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/4-1/2 Cup Cold Water
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 Egg Whisked for egg wash

  1. Add together the flour, butter, sugar and salt into a bowl or food processor.

  2. Cut the butter into the flour until it resembles a sand like texture.

  3. Add the cold water slowly until it forms a dough that’s not too dry and not too sticky.

  4. Form into a ball and cover in plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm, about 30 minutes.

  5. Roll out to about a 1/4 inch thick and cut into 2” x 1” strips or into the shapes of your choice.

  6. In a small bowl add about 1/4 cup granulated sugar and cinnamon. Brush the dough with the egg wash (whisked egg with 1 Tbsp of water) and sprinkle liberally with the sugar cinnamon mixture.

  7. Bake at 350°F for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

  8. Cool and enjoy!
