Crispy Apple Cinnamon Pulled Pork made with a Coca-Cola Cinnamon Marinade

Ingredients

  • 1 Pork Shoulder
  • Salt Liberally Sprinkle on Pork Shoulder Prior to Cooking
  • Pepper Liberally Sprinkle on Pork Shoulder Prior to Cooking
  • 6 each Apples Peeled and Cubed
  • 1 each Yellow Onion Halved and Sliced
  • 1 cup Coca-Cola Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Chicken Stock
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Place pork shoulder on a sheet tray and liberally sprinkle with salt and pepper prior to cooking

  2. Brown pork shoulder on all sides in a large pan or Dutch Oven

  3. While pork is browning, peel the apples and then cube into 1" squares

  4. Cut the yellow onion in half and slice into 1/2" slices

  5. Take the pork shoulder out of the pan and place into your crock-pot

  6. In the same pan you used to brown the pork, add the apples, onion, Coca-Cola Cinnamon, Honey and Cinnamon and cook until the onions are translucent

  7. Add to the crock-pot and cook overnight or a minimum of 4 hours or until fork tender

  8. Take out pork shoulder and place on a sheet tray and shred it

  9. (Optional) Add a cup of liquid from the crock-pot and place under the broiler until crispy

  10. (Optional) Take marinade from the crock-pot, place in blender and blend to make a sauce for the pork

  11. Enjoy!!
